Product Development Technologies Has Three Products Recognized by Spark Design Awards
LAKE ZURICH, IL — July 12, 2017 — Product Development Technologies (PDT), a global, full-service product design and development firm, is proud to announce that the Cubii Smart Under-Desk Elliptical, the Array of Things: Urban Sensor Project and the Leitz iLAM Home Office Laminator were all recognized as Finalists by the 2017 Spark Design Awards. PDT partnered with clients to develop a diverse range of award winning products from office equipment to fitness devices.
Cubii Smart Under-Desk Elliptical
Cubii is the first digitally connected under desk elliptical that allows users to burn calories while sitting. Designed in tandem with an app that provides motivation through progress tracking and competition with other Cubii users, it makes movement fun and enticing. The elliptical’s design is novel in that it is silent and provides a natural range of motion, making the ride smooth and comfortable. It also connects with Fitbit, so every stride can count towards daily step goals.
Array of Things: Urban Sensor Project
Array of Things is an urban sensing project, a network of interactive, modular sensor boxes that are being installed around Chicago to collect real-time data on the City’s environment, infrastructure and activity for research and public use. Essentially, it’s a ‘fitness tracker’ for a city, measuring livability factors like climate, air quality and noise. Nodes started to be mounted on streetlight traffic signal poles around the city in Summer 2016, and a goal of 500 nodes installed by the end of 2018 is in place.
Leitz iLAM Home Office Laminator
Leitz’s iLAM Home Office Laminator is a highly versatile solution for business or personal use within the home setting. With the user and setting in mind, the laminator design is compact, with high performance features at a great value. It warms up in only three minutes, and laminates pouches up to 125 microns thick. In addition to the versatile design, the Home Office Laminator is available in four vibrant colors that end users can choose from to match their unique style or interior color scheme.
