NIU CAUSE developed the Social Impact Summit to educate individuals about the application of social entrepreneurship, which leverages business techniques to find solutions to social problems, to inspire those to enlarge their societal and environmental impacts and to facilitate networking among those passionate about making a difference in the world.
“It is exciting to see a room full of young entrepreneurs from my alma mater trying to make a real difference in society,” said Lingle. “I remember being in this exact same position as an undergraduate; your career is about to take off and can go any direction possible. It can be exciting, scary and every other emotion in-between. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and mentoring this group of young professionals in whatever way possible.”
Lingle joined PDT’s electrical engineering team in 2008, where he currently manages a variety of product development programs in the consumer, medical and defense sectors. He brings 15+ years of experience in designing and managing hardware architectures, embedded devices, and user interface subsystems. Lingle holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in digital design from Northern Illinois University.
The Social Impact Summit includes a keynote speaker, three panels and a “Pitch with a CAUSE” competition, where teams will present their ideas for a social startup for a chance to take home a $1,500 first place prize. PDT is proud to be a platinum level sponsor for the Social Impact Summit for the second consecutive year. PDT has employed many NIU Engineering Alumni and looks forward to maintaining a great relationship with the university.
