Fellowes, looking to refresh its current home and SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) shredders, turned to PDT to incorporate the new design language previously developed by our team. PDT’s team worked to expand the design so that the new shredders would communicate the continuation of its family of laminators and binders.
Designed for occasional use in the home / home office, the shredders are low cost yet carry a premium look. PDT developed two models in two different price brackets, each with a different sheet capacity and different waste bin size. The shredders incorporate several safety features including an easy lift handle, child safety lock switch and a power cut feature that cuts power to the machine when the head is removed to prevent accidental injury. In addition, the high end model has 'safesense', a technology that stops the cutter blades when the paper slot surround is touched. Other innovative features include buttons that incorporate a slot feature for measuring paper thickness to prevent the user from shredding too much paper at once, clearly marked areas for credit card insertion and LED lights to inform the user of the shredder's status.
