Current business jet seat attachment systems make assembly and disassembly of aircraft seats a labor intensive and time consuming process. During the course of aircraft interior fit-out, seats can be put in and taken out as many as six times, each time consuming up to 45 minutes of two people's time. PDT and TZ developed a seat attachment solution implementing Intelligent Fastening Technology, that reduces assembly and disassembly time to under 60 seconds without adding any significant weight to the overall seat assembly. The concept model, built by PDT, was shown at the Hamburg Air Show in Germany.
