PDT partnered again with Qualcomm, Inc. to develop a break through device that demonstrates new technologies for mobile multimedia content delivery. Smaller than a credit card and just 11.5 mm thin the DCard and VCard were developed to showcase Qualcomm’s MediaFLO and iMOD screen technologies for the first time in a non mobile phone device illustrating the future of mobile interactive media and data delivery – ‘clip casting’ and ‘data casting’.
PDT’s research and development team defined user persona’s based upon empirical research to drive the design direction. Each persona would encompass demographics, brand affiliations, lifestyle and career scenarios. Although primarily a demonstration platform it was essential to base the design direction on tangible values making it relevant to various use models.
