Volumatic's CountEasy 'count by weight' cash handling machine has been the most reliable machine of its kind and the preferred choice of leading retailers and banks since 2004. So when an updated design was in demand, which was to include a 4.3" Touchscreen interface while maintaining the small footprint necessary for the minimal space available in most use settings, Volumatic called upon PDT for help in bringing it to fruition.

Our team got to work creating options that built upon the established brand language while keeping the Hod and load cell assembly from the existing CountEasy, ensuring device stability for accurate measuring and including an integrated carry handle.
Creating Options
USB A, Mini USB B, RJ11 and RJ45 connectors were included and the weighing hod was protected against damage while being removable and freely rotating. Prototypes were created to test and validate the design.
Prototyping
3D renderings were produced, allowing Volumatic to review the final appearance of the design. Colors, materials and finishes were decided at this stage and the images produced were suitable for marketing use.

PDT completed the industrial design and mechanical engineering of the new CountEasyTS to a production ready level. PDT also designed an optional metal baseplate accessory that can accommodate an add on printer to increase further the portability of the whole unit.
